One of the central tenets of a Catholic faith is that all students are loved by God with a love that knows no bounds or conditions. It is through prayer and liturgy at MacKillop College, that our students are provided with opportunities to gain an understanding of this love as well as providing an environment where each person’s faith can flourish and grow.
Shared experiences of prayer and Eucharist are important journeys for our students.
Throughout the year the school provides opportunities for students, staff and parents to experience various prayerful and Eucharist celebrations. The Liturgical calendar is extensive, celebrating and reflecting on events such as: Opening School Mass, Lent, Easter, NAIDOC Week, combined Liturgies with St Stanislaus' College, Holy Week, Reflection Days, Our Lady Help of Christians Mass, Mary MacKillop Feast Day and Graduation Mass.
Students are encouraged to be actively involved in these Liturgical celebrations including Eucharistic ministerial duties, reading and participating in the choir and band.
MacKillop College shares a close connection with the Cathedral Parish of St Michael and St John, St Stanislaus' College, the Sisters of Mercy and the Sisters of St Joseph along with the four Catholic Primary Schools; The Assumption School, The Cathedral School, Holy Family School and St Philomena’s School.
